Five Things in Waukee: Snow Ordinance, Early Dismissal, Library Activities and a Calendar Meeting
Here's everything you need to know today, Jan. 18, and some other stuff, too.

1) Snow Ordinance
A snow ordinance will be in effect in Waukee today until 6:00 p.m. Residents are asked to move all vehicles off the streets to allow snow removal. If you violate the snow ordinance, you could be issued a $25.00 violation citation and your vehicle could be impounded. You're encouraged to contact the Waukee Police Department at 515-987-1073 if you have questions.
2) Early Dismissal

Don't forget! Today is early dismissal for all Waukee Schools. Elementary schools will dismiss today at 1:40 p.m. Secondary schools dismiss at 12:50 p.m.

Looking for some fun for the kids today? Check out Playful Preschoolers at 10 a.m. at the Waukee Public Library. Playful Preschoolers is for children ages 3 to 6. It includes read-aloud stories, songs and rhymes followed by a craft.
Babies and Books also meets at 10 a.m. It's for pre-walkers (babies approximately birth to 18 mos.) with a caregiver. There will be songs, books and rhymes. Only one child per caregiver is recommended.
There will be a Teen Movie showing today at 1 p.m. The Library will be showing "Footloose."
4) Waukee Schools Parent Calendar Committee Meeting
There will be a meeting of the Waukee Community School District Parent Calendar Committee tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Waukee Community Schools District office. The meeting will be held in conference room 102.
5) Today's Weather
Expect partly cloudy skies toay with a high in the low to mid-30s. Tonight, mostly cloudy with a low around 10.
