Five Things in Waukee: Sports, Theatre, Music and a School Reminder

1) Waukee Sports
The Waukee boys and girls basketball teams will face West Des Moines Valley today in Waukee. The boys 10th grade game is at 4:45 p.m. with the girls varsity game at 6:15 p.m. and the boys varsity playing at 7:45 p.m., all at .
The girls JV team will play at Prairieview School against West Des Moines Valley at 4:45 p.m.

2) "Dancing at Lughnasa" at the Theatre Arts Center
The Waukee Theatre Arts production of "Dancing at Lughnasa" opens this evening at the Theatre Arts Center at at 7 p.m. There are two more performances tomorrow at 2 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.

3) The Java Jews at ArtsCentral Saturday
The Java Jews, a klezmer band, will play at as part of the 's Home Grown Talent series tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
Klezmer music immigrated to the United States in the late 1800s and early 1900s by way of the European Jews. The music mixes elements of both pop and jazz music.

4) Reminder: No School Monday
