Five Things in Waukee: Thanksgiving Quiets the Streets of Waukee

1) Thanksgiving Break Begins in Waukee Schools
Thanksgiving break begins today for students in all 10 of the schools in the Waukee School District. Classes resume at their regular start times on Monday, Nov. 26.
2) No Activities at the Waukee Public Library

Due to the holiday, there will be no regularly scheduled child or teen programs or activities this week at the Waukee Public Library. The library will be closed on Thursday and Friday and will reopen for with normal weekend hours, Sat. 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Sun. 1 - 4 p.m.
3) Citizen Committee Volunteers Still Needed

The City of Waukee is taking applications for vacancies on all appointed boards, commissions and committees. This application process is in an effort to ensure diversity and representation of our community. Submit completed applications should be submitted to City Hall by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2. All applicants must be Waukee residents at least 18 years of age. These are uncompensated positions. All applications are subject to the open record laws of the State of Iowa. 5) Did You Know?
Did you know the is holding a Christmas Drive? Now until Dec. 16, donations of canned goods, paper products, and personal hygiene products along with new, unwrapped toys will be accepted at the Waukee Police Department. Items can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you wish to make a monetary donation, make the check payable to the "Waukee Christmas Fund."
