Five Things in Waukee This Weekend: Basketball, a Band, Bowling and Financial Peace

Here's everything you need to know this weekend, Feb. 17-19, and some other stuff, too.

Friday: Waukee Boys Basketball

The Waukee boys basketball teams will play host to Ankeny High School today at Waukee High School. The 9th grade boys play at 4:45 p.m., with the 10th grade boys at 6:15 p.m. and the varsity boys at 7:45 p.m.

Saturday: Dallas County Hospital's Bowl-a-Palooza

The Dallas County Hospital Foundation, in partnership with Warrior Lanes, will be hosting its 4th Annual Bowl-a-Palooza bowling event Saturday noon-9 p.m. at Warrior Lanes. Bring the family and enjoy two hour shifts of bowling, pizza provided by Northern Lights Pizza and pop for just $10 per bowler and $5 for bowlers five and under. Raffle tickets are also available for purchase. Prizes include a trip to St. Louis, Iowa Cubs Tickets, Hawkeye's & Cyclone basketball tickets, Adventureland Family Packs, gift cards and more! With a special appearance by Dallas County Hospital's very own "Boo Boo Bear," this is sure to be a fun-filled family night to remember.

Saturday: Live Music at Mickey's Irish Pub

Come to Mickey's Irish Pub Saturday night at 9 p.m. for Lesson 7, a band many will remember from Mickeys' New Year's Eve celebration. They are a great party band, playing a creative combination of alternative, rock and hip-hop. The music is also great to dance to.

Saturday: Girls Basketball Regional Tournament

The Waukee girls varsity basketball team will compete in the regional girls basketball tournamant Saturday night at Waukee High School at 7 p.m

Sunday: Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University at Point of Grace Church

Have you resolved to better manage your money in 2012? Register for Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University held at Point of Grace Church in Waukee.

Financial Peace University is a 13 week program that meets Sunday afternoons from 4-6 p.m. It began on Feb. 12. Cost is $100 per individual or couple. E-mail
