Five Things Waukee Residents Should Know: Ribbons, Boosters, Theater and a Big Diamond
Here's what's going on in Waukee today, Oct. 5, and some other stuff you might want to know.

1) Farrell's Ribbon-Cutting
The will host a ribbon-cutting today at at 215 N. Warrior Lane beginning at 11:45 a.m. The ribbon-cutting will take place at noon. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP to www.waukeechamber.com/registration. Â
2) Waukee Athletic Booster Club Meeting

The Waukee Athletic Booster Club will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Waukee High School commons. The Booster Club meets the first Wednesday of every month.
3) Jeremiah Gamble & Theater for the Thirsty

Theater for the Thirsty is a two-person theater company specializing in entertaining, music-infused, funny, thought-provoking, soul stirring and imaginative theater. The Gambles will perform at in the commons at 6:30 p.m. tonight. The event is free and open to the public.

5) Did You Know?
Did you know that there's a new work of art at Schuler Elementary? The "Black Diamond" was installed in an area in front the Clive elementary school last Friday. Created by Rebecca Ekstrand and Thomas Rosborough, this 13-foot-tall steel sculpture, pays tribute to the Schuler family and the entire mining community that was so prevalent in the area in the early 1900s.
