Five Things Waukee Residents Should Know: Sept. 19

Here's what's going on in Waukee today and some other stuff you might want to know.

1) Yard Waste Pick Up

Monday is yard waste pick-up. Make sure all yard waste is placed on the curb in clearly marked containers or yard waste bags, and that sticks, twigs and tree limbs are bundled and are no longer than four feet. If your yard waste is missed today, the City asks that you contact the Utility Office at 978-5502.

2) Kosama Ribbon Cutting

The Kosama Waukee at 70 Laurel St., next to Mickey's Irish Pub, is hosting a ribbon cutting today at 11:45 a.m.

3) Teen Advisory Board Meeting

For students interested in leadership at the Waukee Public Library, the Teen Advisory Board will meet today at 4 p.m. at the library. Teen advisors volunteer at the library, plan teen programs and run fundraisers. They also assist in the selection of young adult materials.

4) Discover Wellness Night

The , 710 S.E. Alice's Road, is hosting a free workshop tonight for people interested in learning more about healthy living. The workshop runs from 6:15 to 7 p.m. RSVP by calling (515) 978-6661.

5) JV Football vs. Newton

The Waukee Warriors JV football team will play Newton tonight at Waukee Stadium at 7 p.m.
