Today is going to a gorgeous day! Expect sunny skies with a high near 50. Tonight, partly cloudy with a low around 40.

Looking for something to do with the kids today? The has a few fun things to do.

Whimsical Ones is for babies and toddlers ages 12-24 months. Children and caregivers will enjoy songs, finger plays and read-aloud stories, followed by playtime. Whimsical Ones meets at 10 a.m.

Time for Twos is for toddlers 2-3 years-old. Children and caregivers will enjoy songs, finger plays, and read-aloud stories, followed by playtime. Time for Twos meets at 11 a.m.

3) Waukee Food Pantry and Free Clinic Open Today

will be open today for those people living in the Waukee School District or for those with approval from local churches to receive non-perishable food and personal items. The pantry is open from 4 to 6 p.m.

will also be open today, 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The free clinic provides everything from high blood pressure treatment to care for a cold or even minor injury.

Both the Waukee Food Pantry and the Waukee Free Clinic are housed in lower level of the Westview Church.

4) Waukee City Council Meeting Tonight

The Waukee City Council will meet tonight for its regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Waukee City Hall Chambers. The agenda can be found here. The next scheduled meeting for the Waukee City Council is March 19.

5) Fire Department Training at the Old Waukee Elementary

The will be conducting nightly training at the old Waukee Elementary building at 400 Locust St. beginning today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The training will continue through March 11.

The training is for firefighters. They will be working on tactical operations such as: search and rescue of a downed victim, ladder truck positioning to facilitate rescue, securing a second means of egress, radio traffic communications and navigation of a dark/smokey interiors.
