Holiday Lights Tour and Other Holiday Events in Waukee
There is so much going on in Waukee to get you in the spirit of the holiday season. Check out our list for something you can do with the whole family.
Whether you like to get out and take a tour of the Christmas lights or donate to those less fortunate, you can pretty much do it all this time of year in Waukee.
The Holiday Lights Tour, sponsored by the , starts Wednesday night at 6 p.m. Transportation leaves the Waukee Community Center at 6 p.m. and arrives back home around 8 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults. Children are free with a paid adult. For more information or to register, contact the Waukee Parks and Recreation office at (515) 978-0007. Pre-registration is required.

14 - Festival of Trees Winners Announced
The winners of the Foundation's Festival of Trees will be announced tomorrow. Each vote cast for the festivals trees and wreaths cost $1.00 each with all proceeds going toward the purchase of new library books and movies.Â

16 - Waukee Police Department Christmas Drive
The annual Christmas Drive will continue through Dec. 16. Donations of canned goods, paper products, and personal hygiene products along with new, unwrapped toys will be accepted at the Waukee Police Department. Items can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you wish to make a monetary donation, make the check payable to the "Waukee Christmas Fund."

28 - Seven Oaks Boone Ski Trip         Â
Students can spend a full day skiing at Seven Oaks in Boone. Attendees will depart around 9 a.m. from Waukee City Hall and will return at 5 p.m. There will be six hours of skiing and a mini-ski lesson. Participants must dress warm and bring spending money for lunch and snacks. Kids are welcome to bring their own sack lunch and snacks. Cost is $50. The trip is for students in fourth through eighth grades. For more information or to register, contact the Waukee Parks and Recreation office at (515) 978-0007. Â
29 - Sleepy Hollow Sports Park Trip
Participants can enjoy three hours of snow tubing during winter break. Kids will leave from the Waukee City Hall at 9:15 a.m. and will return at 2:45 p.m. Attendees will stop for lunch on the way home. Dress warm (gloves, hats, and boots) and bring spending money for snacks and lunch. Cost is $28 and is appropriate for children in third through sixth grades.
