Metro Arts Jazz in July Concert Comes to Waukee Tuesday
Jazz in July comes to Waukee tomorrow night when the John Krantz Quartet plays on the downtown Triangle.

The will present a free Metro Arts Jazz in July concert on tomorrow night, Tuesday, at 6 p.m. at the Waukee Downtown Triangle, 6th and Walnut Streets.
Opening will be the Waukee Jazz Combo from Waukee High School from 6 - 6:30 p.m. The featured jazz group at the Triangle will be the John Krantz Quartet from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. The Quartet consists of John Krantz, piano; Jim Eklof, drums; Bryan Schumacker, saxophone; and Karl McComas-Reichl, bass.

Krantz loves to play the standard songbook that jazz musicians have adopted in a swinging and bluesy style. He has been regular entertainment at Sam and Gabe’s Italian Bistro every Friday night for over two years. Krantz is a volunteer for the Greater Des Moines Community Jazz Center and is founder of the CJC Jazz Hall of Fame, which recognizes those who have dedicated their lives to jazz in Des Moines.
The public is invited to attend this night of cool jazz and fun activities at Triangle Park in Waukee. There will be free children's activities by the Waukee Area Arts Council. The Waukee Public Library Friends and Foundation will have a food stand and downtown Triangle businesses will be open. There will also be artist booths. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets.

The Waukee Downtown Business Association, and Hillyard are sponsoring the jazz event with the Waukee Area Arts Council.
