Submitted by Jeff Mullen for Senate

Jeff Mullen, Lead Pastor at the Point of Grace Church, has filed his affidavit of candidacy and nomination papers with Secretary of State, Matt Schultz.  This step makes his senate bid for District 22 official.

"Our state needs strong principled leaders who are willing to look at government with a new perspective.  I believe I am that kind of leader," Mullen states.  I will courageously stand for our Iowa Constitution and Bill of Rights and will continue to fight against judicial overreach just as I did in my role in ousting three Supreme Court Justices in 2010."

"Iowa government must begin to reduce its spending, realign its tax structure and return Iowa to educational excellence through parental freedom and competition," Mullen adds.  We need to elect Republicans who will actually stand boldly for the Republican platform.  Leaders not dedicated to our founding documents, those whose vision has been blurred by personal interests or those who simply want a title by their name for preferred seating can no longer be tolerated."

This week, Citizens United Political Victory Fund (CUPVF), the affiliated PAC of Citizens United, endorsed and contributed $2,500 to Mullen’s primary election.

“Pastor Jeff Mullen is the conservative candidate in this primary election and I’m proud to support him,” said David N. Bossie, President of Citizens United. “Throughout his life, Pastor Mullen has been called to selflessly lead and teach others in the church. He has lived by a set of beliefs and values that have guided him to defend the traditional family, and when he gets to the Senate next year, Pastor Mullen will fight to create jobs and help keep Iowa a Right to Work state."

Jeff Mullen plans continue in his leadership role as Lead Pastor at Point of Grace Church in Waukee, where he employs 25 people and manages millions of dollars worth of assets. He has lived within the new District 22 lines for 17 years and currently resides in Clive with his wife, Cathy, and their two daughters who attend Des Moines Christian School.
