Nathan Lucs Commits to University of Sioux Falls Football Program

Nathan Lucs, a senior at Waukee High School, has committed to the University of Sioux Falls to play football next season.

Nathan Lucs, a senior at Waukee High School, has verbally committed to the University of Sioux Falls football program as a linebacker.  

Lucs was a three-year varsity player for the Class 4A Waukee Warriors playing  linebacker, fullback, and running back. In his senior year, Lucs was named 4A All-State 2nd team linebacker, 4A All-State Academic Football Team, Elite CIML Conference linebacker, CIML Iowa Division 1st team linebacker and Dallas County 1st team linebacker. Team honors included Warrior of the Year and Most Valuable Defensive Player.  

Lucs' 2011 statistics included 95 tackles and one fumble recovery at linebacker, 540 rushing yards on 80 carries at running back, 144 receiving yards on 6 receptions, and 11 touchdowns. In addition to football, Lucs is also an Elite All-State track and field participant at Waukee where he holds four school records in the hurdles and pentathlon.

The University of Sioux Falls Cougars are a division 2 program lead by Jed Stugart that will be playing in the Northern Sun Conference starting in the fall of 2012. The Cougars have four National Championships at the NAIA collegiate level prior to their move to division 2.
