Newt Gingrich Ad Promotes Ronald Reagan Documentary

A new 30-second television spot promoting a 2009 Newt and Callista Gingrich-produced documentary further aligns Gingrich with former president Ronald Reagan.

In a new 30-second television spot running this week in both Des Moines and Cedar Rapids markets and Fox News, Newt Gingrich, alongside wife Callista, turns the spotlight toward a 2009 Gingrich-produced documentary about former president Ronald Reagan.

"Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous with Destiny," was produced in 2009 by Citizens United Productions, an arm of Citizens United, a group that describes itself as "an organization dedicated to restoring our government to citizens' control," apparently through the production of politically-charged videos and documentaries.

In the television ad, the Gingriches stand together in promoting the video, with Callista Gingrich reminding viewers that, "President Reagan believed in freedom, America and the American people," a fact that Newt Gingrich himself has touted at several points along his bid for the presidency.
