PHOTO GALLERY: The Festival of Trees at the Waukee Public Library

The annual Festival of Trees benefit held Thursday night drew many residents out for a night of stories, treats and lots of holiday cheer.

The annual Festival of Trees celebration and benefit was held at the Waukee Public Library Thursday night.

More than 17 decorated Christmas trees and wreaths, purchased and decorated by Waukee area businesses, organizations and residents, were on display throughout the library. The trees will remain up through Dec. 12 during which time library patrons may vote for their favorites. The winner will be named on Dec. 14. Each vote costs $1 and all proceeds go toward the purchase of new books.

Besides the holiday decor, there were refreshments, a silent auction and a holiday-themed pajama storytime for the kids.
