takes a different approach to fitness. Beginning Jan. 7, you can sign up for a 10-week bodyshaping course that combines cardio-kickboxing, strength training, and nutrition to deliver noticeable results.

Cary Douglas, head coach and manager at the Waukee Farrell's, said the 10-week course has been so popular that they tend to get those people resolving to make big changes year round.

"I can't say the rush is any bigger the first of the year than the start of any other session," she said. "If anything, we see those people who have been through the program come back to the gym and recommit after some time away."

The cost of the Farrell's Extreme Bodyshaping program is $389.

Holmes was quick to point out that no matter what fitness regime you choose to undertake, you should make sure you're committed to making the change first.

"The first thing I always say is don't do something unless you're willing to make that life change," he said. "You have to be disciplined otherwise it's a waste of time for me and a waste of time for you."
