Rob Taylor Builds Momentum in Bid for Iowa House Seat

Support and organization for Rob Taylor continues to develop since first announcing his candidacy for District 44 of the Iowa House of Representatives this past fall. This week he received the endorsement of West Des Moines Mayor Steve Gaer, Waukee Mayor Bill Peard and Clive Mayor Scott Cirksena. In addition, Taylor set the fundraising pace for all other new Republican candidates in Iowa.

“Rob understands the complex issues of the day; jobs, the economy, taxes and spending. He and his family have given a great deal back to their community and are themselves the definition of community service. Rob will serve the people of his District and the people of Iowa very well,” said West Des Moines Mayor Steve Gaer.

Having spent the last decade as a small business leader, Taylor understands that Iowa must maintain its business-friendly climate, helping to grow and attract new business to the 44th District.

The support of the citizens of the 44th District is also illustrated in Taylor’s fundraising numbers, having raised nearly $30,000 in donations from the people of Iowa and the 44th District. These numbers, as reported to the Iowa Ethics and Disclosure Board, clearly show a strong groundswell of support for the
Taylor for House Campaign.

“I am humbled to receive the nod of approval of elected leaders like Mayor Gaer and other community leaders across the District as well as those who have given and believed in my campaign. As a father of a young family, I understand that we must return Iowa to its educational prominence. I will work to promote
business growth and development in order to keep our outstanding graduates in the state. We can do this by reducing burdensome regulations and taxation on job- producing businesses and industries,” said Taylor.

Born and raised in Des Moines, Taylor had the benefit of living in urban Des Moines but also tended to the family farm in Osceola. Rob learned to value hard work and a commitment to family. Taylor graduated from Lincoln High School in 1989. He received his Associates Degree from Des Moines Area Community
College in Ankeny, his Bachelor of Science from Upper Iowa University and his Masters of Business Leadership from William Penn University. Taylor is a sales director for a petroleum distributor in central Iowa. Taylor and his wife, Christi, have four children.
