Rotary and Chamber Meetings, Alice's Road Open House, Sports and Other Things Today in Waukee

1) Rotary and Chamber Ambassador Meetings

Interested in joining the Rotary Club? The group will meet first thing this morning at 6:45 a.m. at the Des Moines Golf & Country Club in West Des Moines.

Interested in becoming a Ambassador? The Ambassadors volunteer at Chamber functions, help organize events, visit member and prospective member businesses and help connect current members.  Come to  the January Ambassador meeting today at 12 p.m. in the Waukee City Hall Board Room to learn more. 2) Waukee Area Food Pantry Services

Food Pantry is open today from 9-11 a.m. offering non-perishable food and personal items for those living in the Waukee School District or those with approval from local churches. The food pantry is located in the lower level of .

3) Activities at the Waukee Public Library

Looking for something fun to do for the kids today? Why not take a class at the ? Time for Twos is for toddlers 2-3 years-old. Children and caregivers will enjoy songs, finger plays, and read-aloud stories, followed by playtime. Time for Twos meets at 11 a.m.

Pajama Time family story time will be held tonight at 6:45 p.m. It's open to the entire family.

4) Waukee Sports

Come out and support your Waukee Warrior athletic teams today.

The girls varsity golf invitational vs. Marshalltown will be at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown at 10:30 a.m.

The girls JV tennis match vs. Ottumwa will be at Aspen Athletic Club at 4:15 p.m.

The girls varsity tennis match vs. Ottumwa is at Waukee High School at 4:15 p.m.

The boys JV and varsity tennis matches vs. Ottumwa will be at Legion Field & Staggs Court in Ottumwa at 4:15 p.m.

The boys varsity track meet vs. Urbandale High School is at Urbandale at 4:30 p.m.

Girls JV and varsity track meets Adel Desoto Minburn, Fort Dodge, Johnston, Des Moines Lincoln, Norwalk, and Webster City at Waukee Stadium at 4:30 p.m.

Boys 9th grade, JV and varsity soccer vs. Des Moines Roosevelt is at the James Cownie Soccer Complex. The 9th grade and varsity games start at 4:45 p.m. while the JV game will begin at 6:15 p.m.

5) Alice's Road Open House

in partnership with the Waukee Economic Development Corporation will host the Alice's Road Open House today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Gilcrest/Jewett Lumber Company.

Come learn more about the upcoming improvements to Alice's Road.  A brief program will start at 5:45 p.m. You will hear about planned activities that will make Alice's Road one of the longest commercial corridors in the metro.  Click HERE to RSVP.
