Rotary Club of Waukee to Hold Annual Auction on Saturday

The Rotary Club of Waukee will host its annual auction and wine tasting at Shottenkirk Chevrolet Saturday from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.

If you're looking for a way to give back to your community, well, same answer as above.

The Rotary Club of Waukee is a civic organization that raises money for worthwhile causes. Following a motto of "Service above self," the Rotary Club not only offers members a chance to be philanthropic and charitable with their time, but it also offers a chance to network and socialize with like-minded individuals.

Wendy Marsh, president elect of the Rotary Club of Waukee, said anyone can become a member and the door is always open.The group right now hosts 50 around 50 members, she said.

"We're basically a group of business professionals who get together once a week to socialize and network and work on various projects for charity. We absolutely welcome anyone who has an interest in getting to know members of their community and assisting with some great causes."

Marsh said among the many projects the Rotary Club supports is the Raccoon River Valley Trailhead Project recently approved by the Waukee City Council.

An Annual Fundraiser

The largest single fundraising event put on by the Rotary Club of Waukee will be held Saturday evening at in Waukee.

The evening will kick off at 6:30 with a silent auction of prizes donated by area businesses. A live auction will take place at 8 p.m.

All proceeds from the annual Rotary event go to several deserving causes and projects.

Tickets are $10 each at the door and include wine tasting, beer, and appetizers.
