Shuler Elementary PTO to Host Miner's Market Saturday

The PTO is hosting its first Miner's Market on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school, 16400 Douglas Pkwy. in Clive.

It's the first time the Shuler PTO has hosted an event like this and organizers hope it will become a successful fundraiser for the elementary school.

"It started off as just a fundraiser, or more like a drive to provide more books for the library," said event co-chairwoman Jen Fischer. "Right now we have 48 confirmed vendors, that's huge for us."

Fischer said the event brings together vendors from all over the area selling everything from apparel to makeup and jewelry, food and wine and everything in between.

In addition to the 48 vendors, there will be a bake sale, silent auction and door prizes. Fischer said the market is the perfect spot to prepare for the holidays.

"It's so nice to have all the vendors in one place," she said. "This is really a great opportunity to start your Christmas shopping."

The Shuler Elementary Miner's Market is open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $1 for all attendees 18 and over. Raffle tickets will be available for $1 each or 3 for $5.
