Waukee Teenage Girl Plays With Fire But Comes Away Unharmed
Waukee Police responded to a number of calls the week of Feb. 6 including one of a female juvenile playing with fire.

Teenage Girl Reportedly Sets Trash Can Ablaze
On the evening of Feb. 11, Waukee Police were called to a residence in the 800 block of Jonas Drive on a report of a 14-year old girl playing with fire.
The teen had set a piece of paper on fire, placed it in a trash can in a bedroom and deliberately closed the bedroom door behind her, according to a police report. The Waukee Fire Department was able to contain the blaze and no damage was reported.Â

The girl was arrested and charged with reckless use of fire.

Feb. 6
An employee at Stiver's Ford reported a theft in the 1400 block of East Hickman Road.Â
A vehicle driven by Steven Dressel of Waukee was struck by a vehicle driven Chasity Heins of Waukee. Vehicle damage was estimated at $4,000. Heins was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
Feb. 7
Christopher Marieneau of Waukee reported fraud in the 500 block of Southeast Laurel Street.
Tiara Manning, 26, of West Des Moines was charged with driving while barred.
Feb. 8
Joseph Hermann of Waukee reported fraud in the 2000 block of Sugar Creek Drive.
Feb. 9
April Prieskorn of Waukee reported fraud in the 600 block of Southeast Williams Court.
Andrew Jensen, 25, of West Des Moines was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving while suspended.
Wayne Larsen of Clive reported a theft in the 200 block of North Warrior Lane.
Kum & Go reported a theft of fuel in the 300 block of Southeast University Avenue.
Feb. 10
A vehicle driven by Doyle Hutzell of Adel struck a light pole and a fire hydrant in the 200 block of Sixth Street. Vehicle damage was estimated at $10,000.
A vehicle driven by Stephenie Erickson of Waukee struck a legally parked vehicle in the 1300 block of Southeast University Avenue. Vehicle damage was estimated at $700.
A 15 year-old female was charged with simple assault in the 500 block of Southeast University Avenue.
A vehicle driven by Cara Setsodi of Waukee slid into a ditch at 335th and Sixth Streets. Vehicle damage was estimated at $8,000.
