The Daily Dose: Bad Moms, a Council Controversy, and Great Weather
Today's Daily Dose includes a little bit of everything - broken bones, bad moms, a big council meeting and some other stuff, too.

If you're a regular at Waukee Patch then you might remember the . My daughter, a kindergartner, had taken a spill on the sidewalk leaving her scraped up and bruised and looking a little like a prize fighter. It was the first call I'd ever received from the school nurse.
I should have knocked on wood.
On Friday, just four days after the sidewalk incident, I got a second call. My daughter had fallen from the monkey bars. She hurt her wrist and needed to be seen by a doctor.

Turns out it was fractured and she'll be wearing a cast for the next four weeks. Lesson learned. I will never brag about not hearing from the school nurse again.
