The Daily Dose: Barack Obama, Waukee Sports and a Business After Hours
In today's Daily Dose, we talk Patch's Pet Pros, a Chamber event and Warriors spirit.

Good morning, Waukee. How was your day yesterday? I couldn't believe how hot it was. Seriously. At the risk of sounding like a total whiner, I had to switch on the AC. It was that hot. And it's only April 26.
In all truthfulness, I spent a majority of my day yesterday in a car driving back home from Wisconsin. Somewhere on Interstate 380, I started to notice that there were police and highway patrol cars EVERYWHERE. Everyone heading north was either diverted or forced to pull over at a rest stop. Then, about five miles later I figured out why. An entourage of epic proportions - several cars long with lights blaring - came my way. I'm going to make an educated guess and say it was President Barack Obama.
Why did I assume it was the president? Well, and I can't think of anyone else who would get such star treatment on the Iowa roadways.

Off the subject, do you have a pet that's driving you crazy with their naughtier-than-nice behavior? Maybe they bark or bite or have a tendency to jump up on strangers? We can help. In this week's , we've enlisted the help of a couple of animal gurus to answer all your specific pet-related questions.
Hey, if you're not doing anything later, you should drop by the Waukee Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours event tonight at West Bank. The event goes from 5 to 7 p.m. and is a great way to network with area business owners and members of the community. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP to: www.waukeechamber.com/registration.

Some people might suggest that I put this little nugget of information at the bottom of the page so that no one would see it. They might be right.
Anyway, I'm just going to throw it out there - I loved "The Hunger Games" trilogy. I read the second and third books back-to-back and I couldn't stand to not know what happened so I bought the audiobook version of "Mockingjay" and listened to it during my Tuesday roadtrip. I know, I know - nerd.
Have a great Wednesday, Waukee!
