The Daily Dose: Happy May Day, New Trash Day and Rain Chances

Today in the Daily Dose, we cover everything from May Day to trash day and everything in between. Read it. You know you want to.

Good morning, Waukee and happy May Day! That's right. Today is May 1 and that means it's May Day. To be honest, aside from the idea of dropping off a May basket on our neighbor's porch, ringing the door and scattering, I have no idea what this holiday is all about. I pulled up Wikipedia but it seems to me that May day has very little significance in the United States. That said, I will be more than happy to snag candy from my kids' baskets to celebrate.

Today is the second day oft and we're looking for your vote. We want to know where the best place in Waukee is to pamper your mom. Maybe she likes massage or pedicures - whatever it is, we want to know your opinion.

Just a reminder, today is the first day for the new garage pick-up routes. Areas north of Hickman Road, west of Warrior Lane to University Avenue, and south along 6th Street/R-22 up to and including the Spyglass development will have pick-up today. Areas south of Hickman Road, west of Warrior Lane, and south of University Avenue to Wendover Road will have pick-up tomorrow.
