Weekend Things: Ross Clowser Concert, Healthy Kids Day at the YMCA and a Fundraiser for Brady

Here's everything you need to know this weekend, April 27, 28 and 29, and some other stuff too.

Friday: Waukee Area Arts Presents Ross Clowser

The will present a concert of three musical acts featuring Ross Clowser tonight at 7 p.m. at .

Clowser is a jazz guitarist and will perform with the Reservoir Dogs — Clinton Garlock, Logan Grote, Harrison Cook and Luke Walsh.

The Cultural Casualty is a group made up of Clowser, Riley Gallagher, Sam Ferril, Rachael Hwang and Leah Stroh.

The third group is a Ross Clowser Jazz Trio, with saxophonist Devin Van Hojlstein.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are available at Waukee Hardware, or the night of the performance, based on availability. For more information call (515) 402-7870.

Saturday: Healthy Kids Day at the Waukee Family YMCA

Come to the for Healthy Kids Day today at 10 a.m. The day will feature activities like a Bike Rodeo, Servere Weather Simulator, Physical Activities, Nutrition Stations, Sports Zones, Interactive Booths and exhibits and healthy snacks.  Admission to Healthy Kids Day is free. 

Saturday: Touch a Truck Fundraiser at the Waukee YMCA

The Junior League of Des Moines will be holding their 2nd annual Touch A Truck Fundraising Event at the Waukee YMCA Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.  Touch a Truck is an interactive display of real trucks and vehicles that allow kids to explore hands on. Admission to Touch a Truck is $5 per person or $25.00 a family.

Saturday: Bowling for Brady at Warrior Lanes

Come out and bowl for a great cause. Get two hours of bowling (shoes included) for $15. For children 10 and under, it's $10. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at Warrior Lanes in Waukee.

All proceeds will go to Brady’s Cure Finders Team to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
