UPDATE: Father Says Taylor Hale Remains in Critical Condition; Support Continues to Come In
Taylor Hale's father, Chuck Hale, told the Des Moines Register yesterday the family does not yet know her long-term progress. He said the family appreciates the community support.

Chuck Hale, father of 14-year-old Taylor Hale of Waukee, told The Des Moines Register on Wednesday that doctors do not yet know what the long-term prognosis is for their daughter, who was injured after falling off a moving car Friday night.
Taylor, who remains in critical condition today at Blank Children's Hospital, is under sedation and has considerable swelling of the brain.

Taylor was injured after a gathering of teens in Clive following a win by the Waukee football team. Two girls who were there told WHO-TV that it was supposed to be a fun evening.

“It was just supposed to be fun. It wasn't supposed to be anything serious like that,” said Alexa Maher.
But Maher said everything changed when two friends were thrown onto the street.
“I didn't believe it at first. Watching it happen, I didn't believe it. I thought she was going to get up at first,” Maher told WHO.
Hailey Stitz told the TV station she jumped off the hood of the car just in time. But her friend, Taylor, didn't get up.
“It was really scary. We didn't know exactly what was happening because it all happened so fast,” Stitz told WHO-TV.
