Veterans Day in Waukee: What's Happening?

A celebration at the Village of Legacy Pointe is among what's happening in and around Waukee this Veterans Day.

Jerry Foster says today is going to be a good day.

Foster, the historian at the American Legion, will be joining his comrades to honor the veterans who have served time in the war and who are still here to tell about it.

The event will take place today beginning at 10 a.m. at the Village of Legacy Pointe. Foster said the American Legion Post 737 and VFW Post 11517 will be hosting the event that recognizes veterans for their service.

"I think it's a privilege to be able to honor them like this," said Foster, a retired Navy man. "It's an honor just to be able to sit and talk to our comrades that served with us."
