Waukee Area Arts Council Announces Three February Shows

The is hosting three concerts in February that should appease music fans of several different genres.
Cindy DePond, a member of the board of directors for the Waukee Area Arts Council, says she thinks people are going to love the diversity of the February performers.

"We're always looking for things to fill the calendar and these three diverse options opened up," she said. "We're very excited to be offering these incredible shows."
The first show, a Valentine's Day dance and concert, will feature music and dancing to the sounds of the Waukee Big Band. The Waukee Big Band plays music from the 1940s big band era. The show will be held Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at ArtsCentral.

On Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m., the University of Iowa Latin Jazz Ensemble will transport audiences to a warmer place playing music of the Caribbean and South America.
Then Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m., Waukee High School's own Reservoir Dogs will rock ArtsCentral with a little old school rock by the likes of Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath and Queen, just to name a few.
Tickets to the Waukee Big Band, the University of Iowa Latin Jazz Ensemble or The Reservoir Dogs are $10 for adults and $5 for children and are available by calling (515) 402-7870, at or at the door the night of the performance (if seating is available).
