Author Joe Millard to Speak at Waukee Public Library Tonight

Joe Millard, the author of three books including his latest, "Where Did All the Cowboys Go?" will be on hand at the Waukee Public Library tonight at 7 p.m.

The Waukee Public Library is hosting a special guest this evening.

Waukee author Joe Millard will be at the library tonight at 7 p.m. signing books and discussing his latest novel, a memoir, "Where Did All the Cowboys Go?"

"Where Did All the Cowboys Go?" is Millard's first person account of what life was like growing up in the 1940s. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event this evening.

Millard is a graduate of both the University of Northern Iowa and Iowa State University. He taught high school and college students until he retired in 1996 as the director of education for the Heartland Area Education Agency.

Since retiring, Millard has penned three books: "Seeing Through Gray Colored Lens," "The Quiet Journey: Memoirs 1936 to 2000," and most recently, "Where Did All the Cowboys Go?"
