Waukee Boys' and Girls' Track Teams Make Strong Showing at the 2012 Drake Relays
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Iowa's best high school runners participated in the Drake Relays at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.

Another year of the Drake Relays have ended, leaving behind a trail of memories and even a record for several members of the Waukee High School track team.
The Waukee girls’ shuttle hurdle relay team made up of Emma Drees, Alyssa Cunningham, Mallory Smith and Maddie Rouw, ran the relay in 1:03.29 to set a new Drake Relays record. The previous record was set in 2011 by a team from Urbandale High School.
In an interview with the Des Moines Register, Rouw said, “I can’t see the clock, but by the crowd cheering, I could tell we were really coming close to the record."
