ENCORE: Waukee Fire Department Experiencing Growing Pains; Now Hiring On-Call Firefighters
The Waukee Fire Department has seen an uptick in calls in the last few months creating a need for additional on-call firefighters.

At a recent meeting of the Waukee City Council, Fire Chief Clint Robinson made it clear in his quarterly report that the Waukee Fire Department was in need of additional resources.
“We’re 75 calls ahead of where we were at this time last year," Robinson said. "We’ve never seen an increase like that. It’s mainly EMS, but it’s also fire. We’re definitely on-pace for a record year.”
For that reason, the fire department is looking for on-call firefighters.
