Waukee Girls Golf Season is Off to a Great Start With #2 Rank in Class 4A

Pun completly intended: the Waukee girls’ golf team is really into the swing of things this season.

According to the Iowa Golf Coaches Association, Waukee is ranked No. 2 behind Cedar Falls, last year’s champions, in Class 4A. The Waukee girls are currently 27-0 for the season.

State rankings for individual players are as follows:

1. Payton Minear, junior
10. Kelsy Shay, sophomore 
16. Jasmine Wyzgowski, sophomore
17. Brittany Best, junior

The girls will face Marshalltown High School today at the Sugar Creek Golf Course in Waukee. The meet begins at 3:30 p.m.
