Waukee Police Blotter: Customer Comes Back to Pay for Propane as Promised

The Waukee Police Department responded to a handful of calls the week of Dec. 28 - Jan. 2 including reports of harassment, public intoxication, assault and driving while suspended.

Heartland Coop Reports Theft by Deception

On the afternoon of Dec. 29, a customer at the tried to pay for a propane purchase using a debit card. After learning that the Co-op does not accept debit cards, only cash or check, the customer left but promised to return later to complete the transaction. 

When the customer didn't return, a representative from the Heartland Co-op reported a theft of propane by deception.

It was noted that the customer returned over the weekend and paid in full. No charges were filed against the customer.

Dec. 28

A vehicle driven by Nathaniel Crannell of Guthrie Center struck a deer in the 2400 block of L.A. Grant Parkway. Vehicle damage was estimated at $4,000.

A report of harassment was taken in the 500 block of Southeast Brick Street.

Dec. 29

Timothy Heilman, 20, of Des Moines was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and open alcohol container.

Dec. 30

Perry Thompson, 27, of West Des Moines was charged with public intoxication.

A vehicle driven by Charles Starmer of Waukee struck a legally parked vehicle in the 900 block of Bobwhite Lane. Vehicle damage was estimated at $4,000. Starmer was cited for failure to maintain control.

John Snedeker, 37, of Des Moines was charged with driving while suspended and cited for no proof of insurance.

Leland Scott, 47, of Adel was charged with driving while suspended.

Adis Mustedanagic, 21, of Waukee was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving while suspended.

Dec. 31

Kathleen Sayasit of Waukee reported criminal mischief to landscape in the 600 block of Southeast Meadowlark Lane.

Jan. 1

Anne Parker, 64, of Waukee was charged with assault with injury and disorderly conduct.

A 15-year-old girl was charged with assault with injury and disorderly conduct.

Jan. 2

Brian Criger, 31, of Des Moines was charged with driving while revoked.
