Waukee Police Blotter: Sept. 25-Oct. 2

Waukee Police responded to a number of calls this week ranging from OWIs to burglary and theft to an unusual number of rear-end accidents.

Sept. 25

David Gruver, 53, of Berwick was charged with operating while intoxicated (second offense). Gruver was also cited for open container.

Sept. 26

A vehicle driven by Danielle Lowe of Clive was struck by a vehicle driven by Ali Hassan of West Des Moines. Vehicle damage was estimated at $2,250.

A vehicle driven by Michael Phillips of West Des Moines was struck by a vehicle driven by Danielle Lowe of Clive. Vehicle damage was estimated at $2,500.

Sept. 27

AJ Electric in West Des Moines reported a burglary to a business trailer in Fox Landing in the Painted Woods area.

Immelda Namutebi of Waukee reported a fraud in the 2100 block of Southeast Florence Drive.

James Flynn, 41, of Waukee was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated (second offense) and driving while revoked. Flynn was also cited for a stop sign violation.

Sept. 28

Michael Phillips, 26, of Urbandale was arrested on a Waukee warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

A vehicle driven by Douglas Parks of Waukee struck a deer. Vehicle damage was estimated at $2,500.

A 14-year-old male was charged with simple assault in the 1300 block of L.A. Grant Parkway

A vehicle driven by Vidal De Jesus-De Jesus of Waukee struck a stop sign on Second Street. De Jesus-De Jesus was cited for no valid driver's license and failure to maintain control.

Sept. 29

Julia Vernard of Waukee reported an assault and burglary in the first block of Southeast Windfield Parkway.

A vehicle driven by David Jones of Des Moines was struck by a vehicle driven by Catherine Kleve of West Des Moines when a third vehicle driven by Alan Vongnhay of West Des Moines rear-ended Kleve's vehicle. Vehicle damage was estimated at $7,000. Vongnhay was cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance.

Lance Phillips of Waukee reported a burglary to a vehicle in the 1600 block of Southeast Bell Drive. 

Sept. 30

Cheryl Weeks, 46, was charged with operating while intoxicated (second offense).

Village of Legacy Point reported a theft in the 1600 block of Holiday Crest Circle. 

A vehicle driven by Alexis Bryan of Waukee struck a legally parked vehicle in the 300 block of Southeast University Avenue. Vehicle damage was estimated at $1,100.

A report of harassment was taken in the 1000 block of Newport Court. 

Oct. 1

Joshua Stonehocker of Urbandale was charged with operating while intoxicated.

Steven Peterson, 16 of Clive was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Oct. 2

A vehicle driven by John Vonharz of Urbandale was struck by a vehicle driven by William Shutters of Urbandale when a third vehicle driven by Trisha Brewer of Des Moines rear-ended Shutters' vehicle. Vehicle damage was estimated at $4,000. Brewer was cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
