Waukee Police Blotter: West Des Moines Man Uninjured in One-Car Accident

It was a quiet week at the Waukee Police Department as police responded to a handful of calls the week of Nov. 27 - Dec. 4 that included reports of assault, traffic accidents and failure to appear warrants.

Medical Problem Causes Man to Crash Car in Waukee

Joseph Kain, of 1037 Eighth St. in West Des Moines, was traveling westbound in the 1900 block of Southeast University Avenue Dec. 3 when his vehicle slid into a ditch.

Kain, 33, suffered from a blot clot in the front lobe of his brain causing him to lose consciousness and control of his vehicle. He was taken to the hospital but was not hurt in the accident.

Vehicle damage was estimated at $10,000.

Nov. 27

Michelle Boyd of Waukee reported an assault in the 500 block of Spyglass Court.

Nov. 30

Karissa Wilson, 23, of Des Moines was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated (first offense) and driving while suspended.

Dec. 1

A legally parked vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle in the 1300 block of Southeast University Avenue. Vehicle damage was estimated at $1,500.

Paul Deshetler, 18, of West Des Moines was arrested on a warrant for fifth-degree theft.

Dec. 2 

A vehicle driven by Jamie Llewellyn of Waukee was struck by a vehicle driven by Chase Deemer, also of Waukee. Vehicle damage was estimated at $2,700. Deemer was cited for failure to yield half of the roadway.

Staycee Richmond, 48, of Waukee was arrested for failure to appear.

Linda Stout of Waukee reported a theft in the 100 block of Waukee Avenue.

William Schulze of Waukee reported identity theft in the 1000 block of Collins Drive.

Dec. 3

Todd Palmer, 38, of Waukee was arrested for failure to appear.
