Waukee Vocal Music Club Sells Piano on eBay

The Waukee High School Vocal Music Boosters are hoping the key to a good fundraiser will be a baby grand piano.

The Vocal Music Boosters, in conjunction with the Waukee Music Department, have listed a custom-painted piano on eBay. All proceeds from the sale will help the Waukee Music Department purchase a new piano.

According to the auction's description, the piano, a Baldwin Baby Grand Piano, was donated to the music department more than 15 years ago. Thanks to the creative vision of local artists Jeff Zelnio and Jon Baldwin, the piano got a sharp coat of paint and a new lease on life. Zelnio and Baldwin's design - "Festive City Life"- features a colorful painted skyline with a jazz theme and covers the entire instrument. A matching bench is also included.

The auction ends on March 7 at 8:41 p.m. As of the evening of March 5, the highest bid was $700.
