Waukee YMCA to Offer Youth Rugby This Summer
The Waukee Family YMCA will offer non-contact rugby for children in grades 1st through 7th this summer beginning June 25.

Looking for a new and exciting sport for your child this summer? Sign the kids up for the 's non-contact rugby summer session.
According to Joel Goetsch, youth program director at the Waukee Family YMCA, non-contact rugby is being played by 4.4 million people in more than 100 countries across six continents.
In Iowa, participation in the Iowa High School Rugby Association has been increasing, as well.

The Waukee Family YMCA's program is targeted toward youth in grades 1st through 7th and is open to both boys and girls interested in the sport. The six-week summer session kicks off on June 25 with two practices geared toward learning the game and four games to wrap up the season.
Leagues are split by gender and will be determined by your child's grade level in the fall of 2012. Teams will be broken down by 1st/2nd grade, 3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade and 7th grade boys and girls.

Not sure if rugby is their thing? Let the kids try out the game with a free trial session at the Waukee Family YMCA on Monday, June 11 from 6-8 p.m. or Saturday, June 16 from 9-11 a.m.
Registration is $35 for YMCA members and $65 for non YMCA-members. There is an additional $15 all-sports jersey fee required for all signed up to participate. The deadline to register is June 17.Â
