Week in Review: An Encore, Fuel Tax Increase, Women in Business, and Alice's Spaghettiland

In case you missed something, here's a recap of the news and events from Waukee Patch for the week of Jan. 23 - 29.

1) On Monday, we ran an encore of a story we did earlier this month on . Cochran, who received a kidney transplant five years ago, is educating others on the benefit of eye, organ and tissue donation.

2) Tuesday we talked to local businesses about what they thought of a set to be in front of the Iowa Legislature this session and how it might affect their businesses. 

3) Wednesday we gave you information of the being held at Prairieview School on Feb. 11. There is still time to sign-up. Registration is required.

4) Also Wednesday, we told readers about a presentation given at last week's Waukee School Board meeting regarding the results of a conducted by the district in December. The results were somewhat expected but also suggested possible changes that could be implemented as early as next year.

5) Thursday, we brought you a story about three local mothers who were working . Each said working from home was a flexible way to stay in the workforce while taking care of their families.

6) Also Thursday, the Waukee Public Library held a and the generous gift they gave the library to build a new meeting room.

7) On Friday, we told you about a honoring Alice's Spaghettiland. The Nizzi family says they never authorized the Harvest Moon to use Alice's recipes and want them to cease doing so. Read about what the Nizzis had to say about the tribute nights.
