Friday: Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition 2012 Spring Kick-Off Event

The Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition will host keynote speaker Sen. Rand Paul tonight at Point of Grace Church. Sen. Chuck Grassley, Rep. Tom Latham and Rep. Steve King will also be in attendance.

The Spring Kick-off event is a fundraiser for the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition. Suggested contribution amounts are $20 per person or $30 per couple.

The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. with a program to follow at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday: Waukee Firefighter's Association Pancake Breakfast

The Waukee Firefighter's Association hosting a pancake breakfast and fundraiser for the .

Come out to the from 7-11 a.m. and enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast with the firefighters of Waukee, along with lots of fun activities for all ages. Weather permitting there will be fire truck rides, water fights, demonstrations, kid’s tattoos, coloring and more. All funds raised go towards purchasing equipment and upgrading current equipment and facilities. 

Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item that can be donated to the Waukee Food Pantry.

Cost is $5 for ages 5 and up. Kids under 4 are free.

Saturday: Volunteers Wanted at the Waukee Area Christian Services Fruitful Vine Community Garden

The Fruitful Vine community garden has received a large generous donation of mulch from Wright Tree Service, and are in need of many hands to help get it moved Saturday from 9-11 a.m. All extra wheelbarrows and shovels are welcome.

Sunday: Celebrate Mom at Aloft Gallery

Step out and celebrate mom on Sunday at the . Browse the gallery and enjoy refreshments from 12-5 p.m. At 4 p.m., there will be a discussion about the benefits of Essential Oils, with free mini massages to follow. Bring mom out with you and she gets a free handmade gift!
