The Waukee Community Blood Drive will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon in the Parish Hall at the in Waukee.

Saturday: Round-a-Bout at Mickey's Irish Pub

Still like that old time rock and roll? The classic rock cover band Round-a-Bout is talented and a whole lot of fun. The combination of advanced guitar work and powerful, high energy vocals makes this a band you don't want to miss! The show starts at 9 p.m. Saturday night at in Waukee. There's no cover charge to attend.

The National Kidney Foundation is hosting "From Silos to Teams - Tackling Risks for Cardiovascular Disease" on Saturday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Ramada Tropics Resort, 5000 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines

This half-day, live CME/CE activity focuses on the benefits of a team approach to CVD risk management that incorporates the different inter-professional skill sets as well as available community resources to get more patients with risk factors to established goals set by evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.  Learning Objectives:  Recognize CVD and the risk factors associated, foster a team approach for CVD risk reduction in high risk patients, outline patient care strategies.
