Voting Eligibility

According to the Dallas County Auditor's office, "all eligible electors of Dallas County are eligible to vote in the Primary Election as long as they declare themselves to be a member of either the Republican Party or Democratic Party. A party affiliation can be declared or changed on Election Day, but only one party’s ballot may be voted by each eligible elector."

An eligible elector must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be a resident of Iowa
    Be at least 18 years old

An eligible elector must NOT:

  • Be a convicted felon (unless voting rights have been restored by the president or governor)
  • Be currently judged incompetent to vote by a court
  • Claim the right to vote in any other place

Polling Places

You have all day to get out and cast your vote in the GOP primary election Tuesday. All polling places will be open from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.
