Yard Waste Collection, Library Activities, A School Board Meeting and Other Things Today in Waukee
Here's everything you need to know today, April 9, and some other stuff, too.

1) Yard Waste Pick-Up
Today is yard waste pick-up in Waukee. Residents are reminded that yard waste material is to be placed in yard waste bags or clearly marked containers. Do not use garbage or recycling bins. Sticks/branches are to be bundled and are not to exceed 4 feet in length. For questions, contact the city of Waukee at (515) 987-4522.

Looking for something to do with the kids today? The has a few things for you to do.
Whimsical Ones is for babies and toddlers ages 12-24 months. Children and caregivers will enjoy songs, finger plays and read-aloud stories, followed by playtime. Whimsical Ones meets at 10 a.m.

Time for Twos is for toddlers 2-3 years-old. Children and caregivers will enjoy songs, finger plays, and read-aloud stories, followed by playtime. Time for Twos meets at 11 a.m.
For students interested in leadership at the Waukee Public Library, the Teen Advisory Board will meet today at 3:30 p.m. at the library. Teen advisers volunteer at the library, plan teen programs and run fundraisers. They also assist in the selection of young adult materials.
3) Waukee Food Pantry and Free Clinic Open Today
will be open today for those people living in the Waukee School District or for those with approval from local churches to receive non-perishable food and personal items. The pantry is open from 4 to 6 p.m.
will also be open today, 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The free clinic provides everything from high blood pressure treatment to care for a cold or even minor injury.

4) Waukee School Board Meeting
The will meet tonight for its regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. at the Waukee Administration Building. The agenda can be found here. The next scheduled meeting for the Waukee School Board will be April 23.
5) Tickets On Sale for Waukee High School's "Beauty and The Beast"
Tickets are on sale now for three performances of the Waukee Theatre Arts production of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," April 13 & 14 at the auditorium.Â
