Iowa Sites Getting In On Cyber Monday Madness - UPDATED

If you haven't had your fill of shopping after Thanksgiving Day deals, Black Friday bargains, supporting Small Business Saturday and hitting weekend sales at seemingly every story and website imaginable, you can score even more savings today with Cyber Monday offers. This year you'll find a number of Iowa-based businesses getting in on the action. Among them:

• The Iowa State Fair will have on its website an offer of $4 admission tickets for opening day of the 2018 fair, August 9. The ticket will be good for an adult or child admission and the sale runs until midnight. The sale begins at 8 a.m.
• For hockey action, the Iowa Wild is continuing its Black Friday deals that include autographed merchandise through today and will add discounted tickets to all of its homes games through Jan. 6. Offers include $5 seats for the Attack Mezz level and $100 tickets for the Attack Zone level. Both deals end tonight.
• At the collegiate level, the University of Northern Iowa is offering $3 tickets to a Panthers wrestling meet, $1 tickets to a women's basketball game or two options for men's basketball: $5 admission or $10 admission with pop and popcorn included. The deals are being offered online only and while supplies last today.
• The Iowa Events Center has deals for Katy Perry and Shania Twain concert tickets, family events including a rodeo and the Harlem Globetrotters, and several sporting events. Discounted prices are available until 10 p.m. when purchased through HyVeeTix.com.

Black Friday spending across America hit $5 billion this year, according to CNN Money, with the biggest increase coming from online purchases at 16.9 percent above Black Friday 2016 online spending. On the other hand, brick-and-mortar stores reported traffic about the same as last year, with an overall decrease of 1 percent spent in stores on Friday versus 2016.
