Learn About School Options At West Des Moines Preschool Palooza

WEST DES MOINES, IA — A Preschool Palooza day will be held Saturday at Hillside Elementary School, 713 Eighth St., West Des Moines. The event will provide fun and educational activities to children ages 2 to 6 while adults gather information about early childhood opportunities, such as preschool programs and kindergarten enrollment in the West Des Moines district.

All activities and snacks are free during the program, which will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The children will get to explore city vehicles and a school bus, have their faces painted, jump on inflatables and sing and dance with Music-N-Motion. They will also learn about school lunch and play with blocks on the Imagination Playground.

Adults can talk to district staff about kindergarten and preschool registration and programs, a representative of the district's nutrition department, a district bus driver, and preschool teachers and directors who participate in the Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program.

The district began the Preschool Palooza informational day in 2013.
