Meet Former Hawkeyes QB Chuck Long On Sunday
Long will be signing a new biography and story about the resurgence of UI football in the 1980's.

WEST DES MOINES, IA — Legendary Iowa Hawkeyes quarterback Chuck Long will be in West Des Moines on Sunday signing copies of a new book about his football career. He will appear from 4 to 7 p.m. at Jethro's BBQ Bacon N Bacon, 1480 22nd St.
Long, an inductee in the College Football Hall of Fame, played for the Hawkeyes from 1981 to 1985 and appeared in five bowl games, including the inaugural Freedom Bowl in 1984 in which he was named MVP and the 1985 Rose Bowl that followed the team's 10-1 regular season and an outright Big Ten title. He went on to play professionally for the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams.
Long, a native of Norman, Okla., was named in 2014 as CEO and executive director of the Iowa Sports Foundation, which runs the Live Healthy Iowa challenge and the Iowa Games and Iowa Senior Games. He previously coached football at the collegiate level and also works as an analyst for the Big Ten Network.

The biography by Aaron Putze, "Destined for Greatness: The Story of Chuck Long and the Resurgence of Iowa Hawkeyes Football," will be available for $18 in paperback and $25 hardcover at the signing. Long will sign one additional item with each book purchase.
