Officers from the West Des Moines Police Department in collaboration with the Central Iowa Traffic Safety Task Force and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau will be conducting a special traffic safety operation (September 3rd-6th) over Labor Day weekend.  During this project, there will be an increase in officer presence and enforcement throughout the city.  Officers will be focusing on all traffic violations, with an emphasis on seatbelt usage and impaired driving.

The safety of the community, roadways and all residents remain a top priority of the West Des Moines Police Department.  This increased enforcement is intended to serve as a reminder for all drivers to obey traffic laws and do their part in keeping Iowa roadways safe.
