West Des Moines Restaurant Remodel Benefits Habitat For Humanity
Everything from tables and curtains to artwork and decor was donated when Olive Garden modernized its nearly 30-year-old restaurant.

WEST DES MOINES, IA — The Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Urbandale received an infusion of Tuscan-style furnishings, art and decor with the remodel of the Olive Garden restaurant in West Des Moines this month. To date, Olive Garden renovations nationwide have provided more than $460,000 in furnishings for Habitat for Humanity facilities that resell donated overstock items and used home furnishings and appliances.
The update of the West Des Moines restaurant, built in 1988, features new artwork, fabrics, materials, lighting, seating and flooring, as well as a new Olive Garden logo.
"The updated decor continues to provide an inviting dining experience while incorporating a more modern feel," said James Beltz, general manager of the restaurant, located at 3600 Westown Parkway. "My team and I are eager to share our new restaurant design with our guests."

A company news release said the new interior design elements of the remodel include distinctive decor for a home-like setting, an inviting lobby area with digital chalkboards, mobile device charging stations at the bar, flexible seating to accommodate large parties, glass-encased floor-to-ceiling wine cases, and wine pouring stations in the dining area.
A spokeswoman for Olive Garden said it hasn't yet been determined when the chains's second metro-area restaurant, located in Ankeny, will be remodeled.
