West Des Moines Stilwell To Host Dec. 16 Benefit
A silent auction and concert fundraiser is planned for West Des Moines schools employee Joe Turner, who is battling non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
WEST DES MOINES, IA — The Parent Advisory Committee at Stilwell Junior High School will host a benefit for colleague Joe Turner, who is undergoing aggressive treatment for n-Hodgkin lymphoma. The event will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 16 in Valley High School's Staplin Performing Arts Center.
The “Jammin’ for Joe Turner” benefit is free to attend and the host group will accept free-will donations. A silent auction will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a concert at 7 p.m. with performances by Faculty Lounge, the Stilwell Faculty Band, the Valley High School Jazz Orchestra, and the Des Moines Big Band.
