Here are the top three stories in Baton Rouge today:

  1. A man is in custody after a horrific murder on Monday night. Police say Earl Lee Johnson bound 34-year-old Janice David of Baton Rouge to a car's steering wheel and stabbed her to death on Facebook Live. Authorities say the man and woman had been on a days-long "drug binge" before the incident. The man faces charges of first degree murder. (WWLTV.com)
  2. The Baton Rouge Health District is seeking $5 million to improve access to healthcare. Upgrades will include signage on I-10 as well as greenscaping and integrated pedestrian crossings. Learn more about the grant at the link. (Greater Baton Rouge Business Report)
  3. Peace Week activities began Monday after a violent Easter weekend. Mayor Broome encourages people to participate in anti-violence activities, which will be available in schools and through communities.
