Here are the top three stories in Baton Rouge today:

  1. This past Sunday, Baton Rouge officers arrested 43-year-old Raphael Day for arson of his home off of Highland Road. The Baton Rouge Fire Department arrived at a house at the corner of East Buchanan Street and Thomas H. Delpit Drive to find smoke coming from the front of the building which was later determined to be an intentional fire. Witnesses of the incident saw a man walking away from the scene and after tracking Day down his record showed that he was previously arrested for the same thing previously. After being taken into custody Day told officers he set his home on fire because he wanted to and he also assaulted a crossing guard, he was booked in the East Baton Rouge jail on counts of arson and aggravated assault.
