Here are the top three stories in Baton Rouge today:

  1. Smiles all round! The Greater Baton Rouge Dental Clinic is hosting a day of free services. From 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on May 4, GBR Dental will serve at least 75 patients with the choice of a filling, dental cleaning, or dental extraction. The event will take place at 16250 Airline Hwy. in Prairieville. To register or learn more details, visit the link. (Weekly Citizen)
  2. Police are searching for a man who fatally stabbed his coworker at a local poultry plant. The man, identified by police as Bruce Causey, is a work-release inmate from the Union Parish Detention Center. Police have not identified the cause of the stabbing, but believe Causey is en route to Baton Rouge. Anyone with information is asked to come forward. (KALB)
  3. A mother is recovering at a local hospital after being shot in the leg by her 5-year-old child. According to police, the shooting took place around 2:15 a.m. on Thursday. Police are still investigating the incident, no information on how the child had access to the weapon. (WAFB)
