- In an effort to support downtown Baton Rouge businesses, Wine Walk Wednesdays have become a popular monthly event for locals to explore new venues and enjoy wine tastings. The event, created by Wardell Junius, aims to provide a mid-week break and promote networking opportunities within the community. Participants walk through downtown, visiting different establishments, and trying a variety of wines along the way. (The Advocate)
- A man has been arrested in Baton Rouge after his 1-year-old child suffered an overdose from fentanyl exposure. The child was unresponsive and had to be treated with Narcan before being admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit. The arrest followed the discovery of Fentanyl in the child's blood tests and the father's admission to throwing away a plastic bag containing drugs. (WBRZ)
- Baton Rouge celebrated Pride Fest in Raising Cane’s River Center recently. The event featured performances by 30 queens and 72 vendors, including free HIV testing and education on PrEP. The importance of acceptance and unconditional love for LGBTQ+ children is emphasized by supporters at the Baton Rouge Pride Fest, urging parents not to discourage their children from being true to themselves.
